I live in France but am English. My husband is French and my two small children were born here. I am homesick to the core; I live in a region of France which is notorious for not even accepting people from other parts of France and I've never settled here. I want to move, but would it be better for my children to move somewhere else in France? The only "England" I see is the one which is on the TV - things like ITV's "Tonight" which often make you feel like Enlgand is a terrible place. It is not the England I remember, but is it today's England? Would I really be coming back to a country that is constantly under threat from terrorists, where paedophiles, rapists and murderers hardly do any jail time, where my children will almost certainly be bullied, where they will most probably be sucked into the binge drinking culture and where they ill have to indebt themselves incredibly to gain a decent education? Are house prices so high that we'll have to live somewhere horrible? Help!

The media only show the terrible parts of England, i dont know why, you will have to have plenty of money to live in these areas, Lake District, Peak District, Yorkshire Dales, Englands Garden, ( kent etc ) Cornwall, Cotswolds, but they are the beautiful parts of England & there are many many more, of course we have our bad spots, what country does not, but they media in England only looks at the bad, i wonder if they do this in France, or any other countries, like i said before you will have to have plenty of money to buy a house in England, even the bad areas a decent 2 bed home will go for 100,000

I think you should stop watching tv if you believe everything you see on it! I have always lived in england, im ninteen and I have never has problems living here. I had a good childhood and wasnt particularly bullied, no more that anyone else and England is a place with a lot to offer people, especially young people. I am afraid bad news sells papers and keeps viewing figures up and therefore a lot of what you read and hear isnt positive, but england is no more filled with bad people and bad places than anywhere else and I am proud to be from england.

England is the most tolerant, diverse country there is.
Education is very good if you get the right school and there are plenty of good areas. TV shows sensationalise all that is bad, but there are so many fantasic things about England that I wouldn't have room to list them all.
Good luck
