1. You both need couple's therapy.
2. If she can't sleep, she should be on medication to help with the problem. Not sleeping when she has family responsibilities is detrimental to the entire family.
3. She needs to contain her socializing to normal hours. The children are learning how to conduct themselves based upon your actions and your wife's actions. This is no way to teach a child responsibility.
4. I know you say it's nothing sexual, but I've seen enough episodes of Desperate Housewives to know that you should be worrying about this. She needs to refocus her priorities to you and your family!!!
5. I think she may have a drug or alcohol problem because this behavior is just not normal. If so, she needs to be in treatment. 12-step. Right away. Again... the kids. They need a stable, clean living situation.

Good luck. I don't envy you. This is a hard situation. You need to get the proper treatment for your wife and your family. This is all in your hands right now as she is certainly not acting like an adult. You need to recognize the severity of this situation and take the proper steps to protect your children.

Tell her that a grown woman should know when enough is enough. Is what is being texted so urgent that it can't wait til the next day? If it isn't, she should be calling. And if the person she is texting is right across the street, why not just go over there or have her come over to your place if they talk quietly? I advise you to "kidnap" your wife on a surprise date, take her someplace romantic, but have one rule - NO TEXTING ALLOWED or the date is off. Then she might get the message. Good luck - hope something works for you.

Personally would say sure, stay up with her, have fun, enjoy. Then about 10a.m. when she is sleeping I would start cleaning the house, banging dishes, vacuuming next to the door, bringing in clean clothes. Sooner or later she is going to freak and ask you to be quiet. "That's" when you get to tell her that there are certain times the family sleeps and certain times they are up. She can't hold the families "day time" hostage because she was unwise to go to bed so late. If she worked at night, "that" would be a different story, we are talking fun here, not work.

uh, still,...........maybe if your wife woke up before 2 or 3 in the afternoon she wouldn't have a problem sleeping at night?
tell that woman to go home, they're being rude to you.

i see you added a comment: yes, she's a grown woman, who has no respect for you or her marraige right now, you need to be a grown man and let her know that it's not acceptable....people treat you the way you let them....she'll have more respect for you in the long run if you do.

She needs to grow up and prioritize. Party time should end at the very latest 2 am. She has kids who need to be taken care of and bills that need to be paid. When my husband and I first got together his friends moved in with us for about a month. They would stay out all hours of the night since the wife was a dancer. i wasnt worried about him messing around but when i had to wake up at 4 am gettin ready for work, they would just be getting home and i wouldnt have any time left to spend with him since he slept all day when i got home. I put a stop to it real damn quick and kicked them out. i told him i wasnt going to be placed second in his life. i wanted to be part of the crowd but i had a job to do and bills to pay, put ur foot down and tell her she needs to grow up and take care of her family. You need to stand up to her or she'll keep doing it.

It'd be a cold day in hell before I sit back and loose sleep because of someone that doesn't go home. All hell would break loose and anyone that wants to take the invader's side is free to go with them as I kick their *** out that door.
