when i use DSL or dial-up at home, i could connect anyway. But then when i'm using my mobile phone to connect through the P2P networks, there is an error in the connection. i would also note that my 3g connection is working for it can be used to browse the net or connect to Yahoo messenger.

Most likely the 3G ISP is blocking the ports used by P2P networks. This is probably for 2 reasons, to limit bandwidth utilization and to prevent piracy.

Check into it with telstra, as I think 3G mobile does not support P2P networking.
