I just watched the video, and thought with anger that, on some level, Michael Moore knows the evil side of the Communist/Socialst system. Both of these systems crush the human spirit. Human rights? Ha! He should see how Socialized medicine works in countries that have it.

On the same page, I watched the video of the girl who had the bad toothache, which turned into almost a comical nightmare of doctor visits and conflicting medication. That girl was complaining about medicine in the U.S. Let me tell you what it is like in countries with Socialized medicine, like where I'm living now.

I just had knee surgery here. I opted for the epiduarl (spinal injection) anestesia. However, for some people the hole created by the needle does not heal on its own, and you begin leaking spinal fluid, resulting in horrible headaches because not enough is reaching the brain. Therefore, the day after I returned home, I went back to the emergency section of the hospital. Even though there is a simple injection to prevent spinal fluid from leaking, (called a blood patch) the emergency room workers apathetically told me to just go home and lay down for the whole weekend. They just didn't want to bother calling the anestesiologist.

The following day I was feeling worse, got scared after vomiting five times in a row so I could barely catch my breath, and returned in an ambulance. They couldn’t care less about me. No one bothered to answer my questions or even get me a blanket. The just walked past me like I was invisible.

Then, even though I needed to lay down, when a motorcycle accident victim arrived, they coldly told me to sit out in the waiting room. SIT? They knew from the moment I came in that I needed to lay down or the pounding headache, resulting in vomit-inducing nausea, would return. They didn't care.

Now, this is the MAIN hospital here for the whole country, but they claim there is no anestesiologist on duty on the weekends. Really? What happens if someone needs an emergency operation? Well, the short of the story is I had to go back home AGAIN... and just waste the whole weekend laying around when one simple injection would have cured me.

Maybe Michael Moore would like to hear about these stories. Are we really supposed to believe that Michael Moore is so naive as to believe the dog and pony show he was treated to in Cuba? Why doesn't he talk to some "underground" people relate their nighmarish medical experiences? Is he scared of the truth?

As a last note: that video clip from "Sicko" of the girl with the toothache demonstrates that the U.S. system has flaws, but my experience shows that Socialized medicine has at least as many flaws! We would be trading in better health care for a lower standard of health care.

The 85% of people who are responsible enough to purchase health insurance would be penalized by the 15% who don't have it. Most people can afford health insurance, they simply choose to run the risk that they can get away without it. These are the same people who fritter their money on luxuries. It used to be that "poor" people lived modestly, but now you see "poor" people drinking their morning coffee at Starbucks, getting cable tv, an internet connection, buying $150 athletic shoes for their kids, and so on. How many "welfare momma" types do you see running around with $50 nail jobs and salon-designed hairdos?

C'mon, it's all a matter of priorities. If health care is viewed as a prerequisite before spending money on any luxuries, then I would guess only 3-5% of people truly cannot afford it.

Thats funny.

Libs in this country want to have their cake and eat it too. They want the prosperity it gives, yet tax the death out of it and socialize everything which would simply turn it into Europe Jr.

We already have one those, its called CANADA.
