If I use music from say Robbie Williams or links to other peoples web pages, or download art from other sites to use on my web page, is that legal or will I get in trouble for copyright infringement?

you would be in copyright infringement, unless it's a myspace site. If it's a personal site, then you must use the copyright symbol after each copyrighted item.

No, it's copyright infringement.

You can link to other people's websites, unless their site says specifically that you cannot -- that's part of the general infrastructure of the web.

But uploading or distributing music or images or other content that you did not create is illegal unless you have a license from the copyright holder to do so.

No, I don't believe so. I have all kinds of music and pics on my web page! Though I took a lot of the pics! Including videos!

If you do it for profit that would be a different issue!

it probably is copyright infringement, but if you look on something like myspace or bebo, everyone does it.
