The he didn't get jail time but community service and a fine. His Licenses was only taken away from him only 2 or 3 years now would you call that above the law?

If a republican did it they say he needs to be in jail and say how bad republicans are blah blah.

The double standard is clear. Conservatives accept responsibility. Scooter Libby did not get off scott free and the two border agents that shot that drug smuggler are doing time and Conservatives support the ruling. They accept that they were involved in trying to cover-up the shooting. That implies wrong doing and Bush has stated he isn't going to even commute their sentence. Trent Lott had to step down whilst Sen. Byrd flies away untouched after being a Grand Master in the KKK. Conservatives hold themselves to a higher standard as they should. We need to set the example for the morally challenged Liberal minded.

Sandy Berger took copies of documents that were on the National Archives hard drive. He took no original documents. There is absolutely no proof to the contrary nor is there any official allegation to the contrary. He was convicted, sentenced and served his punishment.

Berger got convicted for those crimes. Which, by definition, means he wasn't above the law. And he was only convicted of a misdemeanor, which is why he got probation and a fine.

Compare that to someone convicted of a felony, who only got probation and a fine, and it's pretty clear that Berger wasn't a special case.

You do understand the legal difference between one misdemeanor conviction and three felony convictions, right?
