I've been barefoot for the past ten years, in every bar I've been in and paid for my own drinks. I wouldn't go to a bar wearing shoes even if I got free drinks all evening.
Btw, it's NOT dangerous; in those ten years of barefooting everywhere I only get a splinter about once a year, never had a cut and never had even the smallest splinter indoors. Cig butts don't hurt when you habitually go barefoot, I step on them sometimes at the train station and while I do notice it, they don't cause a burn, even on the arch. Feet are a lot tougher than most people think!
There are no signs requiring footwear in my country but even in the US many stores, restaurants and bars don't care. In spite of persistent myths, there are NO health laws requiring footwear and if you shop around a bit you'll easily find a place to go that has no dress code.

I'd fork out the money for my drink and keep my shoes on, thanks. Barefoot and bars can't possibly be a good combination unless it was a swim-up bar in a pool. Now then you would HAVE to be barefoot.

I went totally naked to a bar for a free drink.
OK, it was is a nudist resort and I won a trivia question to get the free drink.

No. I avoid being barefoot because of heel spurs. Public places are filthy too!

hmmm...i saw a movie with people braking bottles in bars...besides i don't drink anymore. i want my boyfriend to respect me. and above that, a free drink isn't worth losing your dignity
