There are a couple of thins to consider when choosing brake pads. Metallic and semi-metallic pads leave a tremendous amount of red / brown brake dust on your aluminum wheels. They tend to chew-up cast iron brake rotors and tend to be noisy.
Ceramic pads are cleaner, stop just as well, tend not to eat the rotors to death and are quieter.
Organic pads are the cleanest, never cause undue rotor wear, stop a little better well as ceramics, but tend to wear out faster (30,000 - 40,000 miles).
If you'll be driving your car for more than two yrs. and need rotor replacement go with NAPA, Car Quest, Wagner and EBC American, Canadian or EBC (England). Stay away from off-shore less expensive rotors as the metallurgy is terrible. They rust, corrode, warp and wear quickly. The heat treat and porosity of metal is quickly evident.
Monroe shops in this area are pushing Crager grooved and cross drilled rotors. The machined grooves are fine but say no to cross drilling. Heat checks and cracking seem to propagate from the through drilled holes over time.
Good Luck!
