The football is the most famous because For cricket the Fans are more in INDIA population 110Crores. For Football one of the Country which is having fans is CHINA 136Crores is the Population. Then almost all the European Countries and Most of the American countries are the Football lovers.

Football/Soccer is watched every part of world and every country. More than world's half the population watches the
football (not the American one, but the soccer).
Cricket is played only in the common wealth countries and is
watched less than one-tenth population of the world.
Even in England(Place of Cricket invention), football is famous
than cricket...but rugby is more popular.
So Football is very popular through out the world.....even though it is not that popular in US....
