I don't. I find other people's weddings a bit boring - certain bits are OK but there is nothing worse than hanging around for hours while they take photos and the awful bit in the middle while you wait around for the evening do to start!. I went to my best friend's wedding about three years ago - as me and my partner drove away we predicted it would last 2 years - we were proved right sadly. Me and my partner have been together for over 7 years and our relationship has lasted longer than many of my friends marriages. It's for some and no others but I am completely happy the way I am. I We don't need to prove our love by a ceremony - mind you girls, I made sure I got the diamonds - he wasn't going to get away with that one!!!!!!!! lol

It ends in divorce when you get married for the wrong reasons or to the wrong person or both. I can tell out of the weddings I've been to who will end up divorced and who won't. I did attend the wedding from hell a few months ago though, and I'll give the couple until Christmas.
My parents are celebrating their ruby wedding in a month's time - that certainly hasn't ended in divorce and nor have any of the rest of my family's marriages. Probably because we have been brought up to think of it as a serious commitment and not something just to be walked away from when things get a bit rough and to think hard before we do it.

Sorry, not all women go crazy when it comes to weddings, my friends and I generally sit in the back and take bet's on how long it is going to last. At least if you go to a funeral the expense of the flowers is forever......
Seems a bit negative, but in this "disposable" day and age a bit true?
And personally, were I ever to get married again, I would want it to be a VERY small intimate thing, not something elaborate. Just the two of us. Nothing more.

Aren't we a little overpessimistic? The amount of divorce are at an all time low, actually (though so are marriages, it seems.)
Now of course everyone steps into marriage thinking that they won't get divorced. Sadly, though, it does still happen quite often. However that does seem more of the case that people use a marriage to try and fix a relationship that is running on its last legs. Marriage will only delay the inenvitable break up.
Anyway, to respond to your actual question, I think women look forward to marriages more since traditionally in western culture most of the spotlight is on the bride, making it seem more fun or enjoyable for them.

Oh aren't you the optimistic one, women who go crazy over weddings, in my opinion, aren't thinking their marriage will end. However, I have to a gree most women go way over board financially on weddings and for what one night to entertain family and friends? I was never into a big wedding and didn't want to spend all the money on it, I wanted money for a house not a huge wedding.
My dream home, a rustic log cabin in Oregon or Montana with beautiful views and fishing, would like it to be a ranch. If I had spent all my money on a wedding I wouldn't be as close to having that as I am.

There are steps you can take to actually build a strong, stable marriage and avoid divorce. Read here https://tr.im/5lSk6
Here are some key steps to apply to your marriage:
- Start by understanding and being informed.
You can never be too informed about tools, methods and studies about building successful marriages. Understand the risk factors like your age and maturity at marriage can determine how successful it will be, the anatomy of an affair and what you can do after infidelity. Understand the success factors like the personal and psychological circumstances that will influence your marriage, what are the tools and approaches available to you in dealing with conflict, and numerous other relevant data. All this information is readily available to you whether through self-help material, through a counselor, support group or other venues. In fact, we have made it our commitment to provide these to you in different formats to help you make the best marriage you can.
The thing is, remember, this is information is not available for you to begin hyper-psychoanalyzing your relationship, yourself and your partner. It's not a matter of spewing trivia for the sake of conversation ' information is there for you to ponder over and internalize to help you transform yourself and your marriage. That includes maturing to such a point that you become more competent in your knowledge but more prudent in approach.

Not all marriages end in divorce. Granted mine is going to but thats not the point. Its just that most women no matter how much they deny it have dreamed about there wedding day for a long time and they just want it to be special. some of them loose sight of the fact thats it about there boy and them. an not about the cake, reception venue.dress, cars, songs, mothers aunty's who have not spoken to you since you were two ect. they just want it be right. its a woman thing just like being a **** is a man thing

Y'know how a lot of little boys have that dream they enact out loud, "5 seconds left on the clock, last play of the game(in British, it'd probably be the World Cup Final) and he makes the last play to win for their team and the fans go crazy, confetti comes out of nowhere and the band starts to play!!!? Well, the wedding's the same thing for girls and women.

Women seem to be born with a "Princess fantasy" gene.
So much of the female ideas about relationships and marriage are based on this ridiculous fantasy. It makes a lot of women have unrealistic ideas and expectations of men.
It sets a lot of women up for disappointment and heartache. I try every day to squash my inner princess and the dang thing keeps bouncing back. I am totally convinced that it is a genetic trait.
