Generosity is one of those things that exist no matter what the situation is.

Say a poor man has only his wife, his children, a small house, a few chickens and a large ox. Among his friends, who are also poor, he is wealthy, because he is a father, a husband, a man lucky to own a piece of land and is very kind and loving.

On the other hand is the rich, greedy man whom has vast collections of silver and gold. He has many large, profitable oxen and has many wives (no offence to any religion). This makes him wealthy and though he may not necessarily be a nice person, he still can be generous.

The poor man can be generous by sharing his eggs, generous by giving his wife freedom of will and to do what she pleases, generous by teaching education to his children, generous by feeding his chickens and spending time and money on anything he does.

The rich man would be generous if he sold properties to feed the poor, to help those in need. He would be generous if he gave his MANY wives freedom and shared his oxens' profits with those who do not have as much as he does.

Generosity can take many shapes, according to the situation and how much generosity one person can withold. In the end generosity is all the same.

Before getting an answer to How we could be Generous? at any situation we should have clear understanding of why we should be generous?
So lack of understanding of generosity is the cause of these questions.
What is generosity?

Generosity rises when we can see that others are a part of us and we feel the oneness with their problems and we will help them generously.

Why I should be generous?

We show Generosity towards others so that we can feel pure.
By helping others we are helping ourselves not others.
If we do some help we are the person who is going to get the benefit first.
So generosity is not our hobbies it is our duty.

Once we are established in this truth then these question will not arise.

Generosity could be done in so many ways. Generosity doesn't refer only to those who have more in life. Even those who have less in life could be generous. Generosity doesn't only refer to material things but also to spiritual things. Therefore, generosity applies to all whether you are rich or poor.

Oh my dear soren,

Thank you so much for your generousity. You are so generous to spread your negativity in the world, when we already have so much of it.

I think the point Alex is trying to make, even though the question was a bit abstract, was that we can be generous when we have so little, if we change our attitudes.

My grandmother is on a fixed income, but is generous to whomever she feels, due to her kind ATTITUDE. She gives until it hurts, because her theory is, "I can live with in means and share what I barely have for others who do not have that choice."

I have a quote for you.

“Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.” -- Douglas Adams

Call me an idiot, I implore you.

True generosity means being generous with your love, and compassion, and words of wisdom, and that you always have enough of, to share.

We can be generous with our time and patience. It costs so little, but a genuinely friendly and helpful moment can change someone's day. I suppose this answer is much the same as Alex's and Lastsoulonearth's.

Smile, be happy, laugh, be polite there are tons of ways. Still most of us enjoy being a little mean sometimes. Some of us think that being generous and kind is boring. I call it schadenfreude which is german for happiness at the misfortune of others. NOW THAT IS GERMAN!
