that is exactly how it is going for me at work...i got worker of the month and then everyone started to hate me and pick on me

Every time someone praises me, I always feel like they're being condescending to me, even when they're not. I hate it when I get praised, but I also hate it when I don't. I think I wish to be in the middle, but it's always one or the other with me. Praise me, or put me on blast. There is no middle. Not anymore.

your teammates would feel bad that they couldn't get that praise; so ask your boss for a minute and have a lecture like this:
I want to thank you everybody who helped us get this project done; my teammates were amazing; Jack came up with a brilliant idea ..... Sue did an amazing research on .... which helped us ... mention every bodys name and his responsibility very quickly and make it a team achievement which every body had a share in it.
people would be amazed such a great person you are; (don't forget that I taught you)

I'm the only one who does my job. There's another guy who does it at our other office, but I'm more qualified than him. I'm not being arrogant, I have a college degree and almost 20 years experience in the field and he was hired at random. I have to tell him how to do his job but I don't get any credit for supervision. That's the world of work for you.
