i heard that it was going to end yesterday... well, too bad.

Why does everyone say that?The world won't end and if those Mayans are so correct then how is the world supposed to end.A giant meteor,invasion of the katar spaceships,I mean how can the world end in only five years?What about that the sun turns into a red giant theory?If it's true,then how come it isn't on the news around the world?

No. I heard it was going to end about November 2008 if Barak Obama and Hillary Clinton take over the White House in Washington, DC.

Did your informant tell you HOW the world is going to end? Or was that felt to be an unimportant detail? Sorry, but I need to know how we are all going to meet our sticky end, if I am to believe it.
Just as in Cluedo, you need to specify WHO, HOW and WHERE?: Will it be Colonel Mustard with the Lead Piping in the Billiard Room? Just telling me WHEN really isn't good enough! 6 and a half billion dead corpses strewn around the planet and nobody even asks WHY?
There are so many crackpot suggestions for HOW being swallowed whole by gullible people: and they are all pseudo-science poppycock and are, not based on observations, calculations and the scientific method.
It seems that portentous celestial events are supposedly exempt from obeying the ordinary Laws of Physics the rest of us have to abide by, and that mystical faith that something will happen is thought to be sufficient to cause a prophecy to be believed, no explanation deemed necessary!
Anyone with a questioning mind is bound to need proof of this contention if they are to seriously entertain it. Unsubstantiated assertions are not enough.

Yes. But then some crackpot has always been around claiming the world was going to end every year the past millenium. So don´t worry about it.
