Firstly you will need to buy some plans. Many hull designers make blueprints with the home builder market in mind.
Next you will need somewhere suitable to build it indoors, keeping in mind the tales of builders who have built a beautiful craft in their cellar, only to find they cannot get it out into the daylight without demolishing the house.
Get to know the local marine engineers and boat builders, being allowed in to the yard to view a craft which is partly built / dismantled is priceless in allowing you to get a feel as to different methods of construction / standards.
Any craftsman given the chance for other people to admire their craftsmanship, will happily give out hints and tips. A crate of beer for the lads now and again will lubricate the works in this regard.
Come up with a budget of how much you think the boat will cost, then triple it, or find a marine quantity surveyor to do the sums for you.
Think realistically how long the project will take from cutting the keel, to putting in the water, then quadruple it. Any boat build project is a surprisingly large undertaking, a 35 footer is monstrous.
All through the project, pace yourself, self realistic targets and timeframes to achieve these goals. If you have achieved the set weekly goal early, take the rest of the week off.
Never allow the project to make you neglect of your loved ones. you really do need their 100% support.
Too many projects have failed to come to fruition because the builder hasn't taken the above considerations on board.
Good luck with your project, maybe in 10 years or so, we will see you as a proud owner, cruising the Med in your pride and joy.

building a wooden boat is no easy feat, my grandad was a boat builder using wood elm , oak etc. If you dont really know what your doing then i would suggest you either pay sm1 to build for you or you buy a used boat. Or maybe go for fibreglass or steel. But i believe that you cant beat a well built wooden boat. it will out last any other boat if well looked after

If, you wanting to do this as a Hobby, then you will need some plans.
If, you want to do this to save money, then I would suggest you buy a nice used boat as it will most likely be cheaper than buying new wood and other materials.

Get yourself a 35' long log and a pocket knife... Just whittle away everything that doesn't look like a fishing boat, and there you are!

first you have to go out and chop down a forrest and then after years of medical bill from splinters and cutting yourself with the saws and cluttering up the yard and listening to your wife gripe about the mess you will never finish you go to your local boat dealer and buy the boat like you should have done in the first place

There were so many woodworking plans with this collection and you will not believe this but there are over thousands plans in the one package deal. Go here https://tr.im/pUEPI
This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.
