given the choice of cell phone with camera or just regular cell phone, which would you buy this year?

If you get a camera, get a high megapixel camera so that it takes excellent pictures. Most of the cameras on phone are VGA which is less than acceptable.

Personally, I do not think it is a good option. I would prefer to get features like gps incorporated into the phone.

I long for the original cell phones without all the features. They were a lot more reliable and you could actually hear out of them. Each new phone I get is worse than the last one. I now have a Razor (for just over a year) and I've hated it since week #2. I can't wait for the two years to be up so I can trade it for another sucky phone (in the hopes of actually getting a better one). The camera.... piece of junk. Almost never use it. Only thing it's good for is if you get in an auto accident and want to take some pictures for evidence. But, then again, just keep your digital camera with you and you'll come out with much better pictures.

I like the camera phones just because I am always forgetting to bring a camera with me to places and I never forget my cell phone. I have kids so I take a lot of pictures. The camera on a cell phone don't take very good pictures but hey it's a picture lol.
I used to have a Motorola V400, That phone took the clearest pictures I have ever seen a phone take.

A camera phone is a cell phone with a camera.

Why not get the one with the camera? It just gives you an extra option you may not see a need for now, but eventually will find useful or entertaining. Having a camera isn't going to make it less reliable...I agree phones are not as reliable as they used to be. I would go directly to your service provider and ask a salesperson you are comfortable with what they recommend. Most times there is no incentive to sell one phone over another (you can ask them). Bottom line, they know what phones are coming in a lot with issue and which are more reliable...take their advice. They don't want you coming back with issues any more than you do.

i have it already so i don't need to buy this year. a cellphone with a camera and video (moving pictures). my cellphone has a TV camera also (TV camera means i can see the person whom i am talking with on the phone if his/her cellphone has a TV camera equipped also. can be used both domestic and internal usage for the TV camera broadcast.
*we do use this TV camera to show the customers our product thru the cellphone while talking to them if they want an on time sample.
*it is infra-red also which you will only face your cellphone toward the other party (if his/her cellphone is infra-red also) to transfer what you have on your cellphone to him/her. and much more functions.
