Tienanmen was the most well known incident including that hugely brave student who stopped those tanks, but there were protests all across China.

The Reds killed as many as they could get away with and many others simply disappeared into the Chinese Gulag never to be heard from again.

Intially it was a student lead protest. There was student leadership from Peking University many of whom were the children of government officials.
