i can only tell you how i reduced mine. i quit taking the bp meds after five years because i was still get high readings on occasion and because they had depleted my body of potassium so badly. this is what i did.
without any treatment - alternative or traditional, i run as high as 290/95 or as low as 160/80. I went to the library and read up on all the vitamins that lower blood pressure - one especially is potassium which the bp med was destroying. Also, there were several others listed - altogether about six different vits and mins - and at certain doses they claim to help hbp. I went out and got a bp monitor so i could check to see if the vits were helping. I was amazed that on about the third day, my blood pressure was reading 130/65 up to 145/60. these readings were as good as any i got with the medication - i feel a hundred times better - not only are the vitamins and minerals helping me feel better and have more energy but eliminating the bp medicine has made me feel really good - better than i have in years (since i started taking it in 2000).
this worked for me and i did it without any OK from my doctor so i wouldn't suggest you doing that - but i believe firmly that at certain high doses natural vitamins and supplements will bring it down. good luck.

Reduce blood pressure by: cutting back on salt, exercising like walking daily, reducing weight if overweight, decreasing stress, doing yoga or deep breathing exercises. However, blood pressure medications are usually inexpensive. If your bp is high, get a prescription and contol it. The consequences of not keeping it under control are unfortunate.

medicinal marijuana. This herb is quite a miracle drug. It is used to quell nausea in chemo patients, reduce headaches in people with glaucoma, and, among other health problems, reduce asthma symptoms. Before 1935,this herb was the source of at least 50% of the drugs in the world. It is non-habit forming, has no side effects, inexpensive (as far as prescription drugs go), and has no long term physical effects on bodily organs. I don't want to say it has helped me, but my whole family has b/p problems. I don't.

Louise Hay speaks about the causes of high blood pressure being, "Longstanding emotional wounds, not allowed to heal...". Were it me, I would start doing some work on healing my emotional body and expressing that which has gone on with me in the past that has not healed.
I would also look deeply at changing my diet and lifestyle. I know I don't get out and walk enough and that it's not good for my diabetes at all. Most people, especially working single moms, do not get enough exercise at all.

Reducing your intake of table salt (sodium) will help.
Reducing your intake of caffeine will help. If you don't want to quit caffeine altogether make sure that your tea or coffee is as dilute and weak as possible.
Plenty of fruit and vegies will help as that provides plenty of potassium.
Garlic (preferably odourless garlic) certainly helps.
Vitamin C helps a bit.
Vitamin E helps a bit, especially when combined with selenium.
Hawthorn helps, especially when combined with coleus.
Fish oil also helps a bit.
Coenzyme Q10 helps.
Plenty of exercise helps a lot.
