My hubby says his parents never gave them steak,they would eat steaks and the kids would get a burger.When we did steak night or went out to eat at my house..everyone got a steak.Which way did it go at your house?

We had steak often at our home. When I was a kid and we went to a restaurant I always ordered steak..."well done" because that sounded cool.
It was only later that I discovered the only way to enjoy a good steak is blood red!

That is so true. When my sisters, me, and my brothers was growing up we never got to have steak. My Mom would cook my dad a steak and mom would get us kids cheap hambugers that was only 10 for a dollar at the time. The only time we got steak was when my mom cooked chicken fried steak.

yes of course i as a child got the same thing to eat as my parents ..including steak ...

Growing up we couldn't afford steak. But we did have roast beef every sunday as a family meal... I got so sick of roast beef... To this day it's all I can do to eat more than 1 serving.

We all had steak. Mum got Dad to cook it, saying he did it better. I hated it. When I protested I was told we were very lucky to have it, as many people couldn't afford steak.
Later when I was dating, persuaded by my date, I ordered it at a restaurant. He suggested med rare.
I loved it.

If everybody was eating steak at the table then EVERYBODY was eating steak at the table. If I needed help it was cut up for me though.
