Ascendants?

The first house and the sign that rules the first house, which is also known as the Ascendant or Rising sign, describes your outer personality and physical attributes. To some extent it also describes your health and the type of illnesses you may experience.


I have a Sagittarius as an Ascendant, does this mean i act/look like one?

While it is true that the ascendant describes your personality, characteristics, traits, etc. If you happen to have an intercepted sign between the first and second house, you will need to include the characteristics of that sign AND any planets in the 1st house as well. I prefer to use 3 components of a chart when describing a person: their ascendant, their sun, and their moon.

However, the 1st house or ascending sign does not describe your health or the type of illnesses you may experience. That is described by the 6th house cusp and any planets in the 6th house.

Well, which planets do you have in the first house?

I have Sagittarius rising with mercury and uranus conjunct to it, venus and neptune in it - I look like the school example of a Sagittarius. Luckily enough I have a good enough liver, so the typical Sagittarius illnesses aren't there... yet, cos if I keep on drinking like I do I might end up getting liver failure.

The sixth house is more likely to add to your illnesses - together with the moon and the house the moon is in - the rising only to some extent.


But the rising is not the only aspect that tells you what you act or look like. The sun, the moon and any planet in the 1st house, conjunct the rising or ruling the rising sign have a play in it. But since the rising is the first thing people will notice about you, their first impression will mostly be that you're a young and immature person, who does things on a fling and needs to be kept an eye on (of course, this doesn't always need to be true) - look at it as your outward personality, but the sun is what you're really like.


So to put it in a nutshell; it doesn't mean you act like one, it simply means people mistake you for one. And yes, it does kind of mean you look like one.

But judging from the picture I'd say there's some scorpio, or cancer-capricorn influence, though...

Yes, you will look, act and have the same interests as a Sag.

Sag's won't always have the best dental hygiene. ;-) not that it's bad, just not the best.

In some ways yes. If you have an odd good luck streak, you are for sure a sag. rising. I'm scorpio rising (0 degrees), so I tend to be pretty extreme. It also doesn't help that I'm a leo too! hahaha!

wow....I have a saggi ascendant too...
yeah...your ascendant is saggi means u look like one....to outsiders and new ppl you may look like a saggi....later on when they get to know you they'll know u like ur SUN sign....

like my sun sign is virgo....and i'm basically shy and reserved.....but due to my saggi ascendant...in the beginning ppl think that i'm very talkative and optimistic....and very outgoing and tomboyish....but when they know me more....they find out that i'm completely opposite.....that also happens because....there is a conflict between saggi and virgo....so in my case the difference shows a lot!

i don't know abt the ailments but i have liver problems.....like most virgos...don't know much abt saggi ailments...

more than that the position of mars and Jupiter r also very important and saggy makes u waste ur time in pros and cons and u miss all trains till u get disappointed
