Depends what you like. Why dont you go to the paint store, pick out a strong shade of your favourite colour. Then pick a soft complimenting light shade and have a feature wall of your fave colour, then paint the other walls the softer shade. Its striking, and colourful without being over the top.
You can also get paint that has texture to it. When we painted our family room, we found a gorgeous soft green paint that, when dry, it has a patchy texture to it. It looks awesome against the other smooth cream colour paint. It creates a great contrast.
In our dining room we picked a rich blue/purple for the feature with an almost-white yellow colour paint for the other walls.
Have a look around, see what is available and see what you like. Think about the style of furniture you have, what atmosphere you want to create and the room's purpose.

Pick a color that is in your bedding that is not used as much as others, like maybe the gold, but tone it down a bit if its too bold for you. Its also a romantic color, and do accessories in other color that match a are in the bedding too, but don't have too many colors or it will look tacky.

go to Walmart or one of the paint stores and look at the paint sample cards. Think about what you want--a bold vibrant room? a cool relaxing one? Also look thru decorating magazines and on-line for ideas.
