First off, Im 16 and a girl. I dress to play hard. I bike in the morning while blasting rock music from my garage, i play sports whenever i can and i recently cut my hair short. My friends tell me i need to be more like a girl and you can believe my parents do. Im a good student, and i want to graduate early. I want to start my life and im trying to get a summer job. I dont do drugs like the majority of my friends do. Im getting pissed off that people dont respect me. I'v tried the girly way but it just doesnt work for me. Im motivated to play hard and succeed. Am a wrong?

You sound like you are well on your way to being a successful young woman. People are always going to disagree with some aspect of your lifestyle. The trick is to be polite, but not to let them shake you. Say, "I thank you for your input, but I'm happy as I am". Don't engage the subject any further. The only thing I would change is maybe turning the music down a little so as not to disturb the neighbors. ;)

All I'm Going To Say Is Be Who You Want To Be Don't Change Just Because They Don't Like The Way You Dress. They Should Be Proud That You Want To Actually Do Things. The Rest Shouldn't Matter.. The Same Thing Happened To Me. Eventually I Got Sick Of It But I Still Catch Myself Wanting To Do It

What's wrong with society especially in 2007? This isn't the stone age anymore. Less women these days are bearing children or getting married. More and more are pursuing careers. Gays are coming out of the closet. Interracial couples are common now. Point is, we live in a more liberal society where one don't feel that they have to conform to what others think they ought to be.

Perhaps people around you want to see you as more of a girl and less like a tomboy. They don't seem to understand is that you are who you are and there's nothing wrong with that as long as you are not harming yourself or others. Obviously their priority is all screwed up. Don't ever mold yourself into someone you're not. Be more assertive and let them know that you will not tolerate them trying to change your ways. If they don't listen than just ignore them. What else can you do?

I don't think you're wrong to be this way. Everyone lives by thier own principles and decides whats right and wrong for themselves. No one in this world can tell you who to be, not even your parents or your friends. You are allowed to make your own decisions and choices about your life and the only person who is valid to make them. You should make these decisions with care. What I'm saying is that you should take thought in the advice and sugguestions of your peers and parents but you don't have to agree with them or do it becuase they said so. You know whats most comfortable for you and you know whats best for you and even if you don't, you'll be alright either way. =)

I believe in any type of relationship, you should change who you are, only if you want to change for yourself. I also believe that in any advice given is a valid arguement to the choices you make in life, as those choices cannot always change to suit you. Your choices have a big impact in your life and also to those who truly care for you, as your happiness is essential and necessary to thier own.

I also would like to mention now, people who are genunine to you, don't mind which path you take as long as you're happy and not hurt and if you are hurt, they'll come and help. They usually give you advice in hopes to make your life happier not painful. Anyways I hope this helped you. Best of luck in all things you pursue. =)

No. You do whatever makes you feel comfortable. People can not tell you what to do, how to act, or what to dress. You are your own person, it seems like you are a smart kid, and have a bright future. Don't worry too much about other people, they have to respect you, the way you are, the same way you respect everyone else.

You are who you are and people need to axcept that if they do'nt oh well. Just be the person you feel you are and not what someone else thinks or whats you to be. Our personnalities are individually based and just like a finger print, they are what we are.

You're not wrong you're unique. Everyone has their own lifestyle and nobody should question yours without questioning their own first. Judgemental people are everywhere, you just have to learn to ignore them and live for yourself. Do what makes you happy, worry about them later. People don't respect you because people don't understand you. That's how it is with everything. Be yourself kiddo.

I think you sound grounded, motivated and well directed. You're physically active, which is a godsend any more, and eager to greet life. Nurture yourself in ways that keep your spirit up and see that you are your best friend.
Best wishes for all success.

definitely not. People who say you're wrong aren't individuals. You're not under peer pressure to do drugs or be girly and that is a very good thing.

You sound all together as a guy of 49 I have seen lots of people who try to be anything but themselves. You are true to yourself so I think you are very honest
