is September a good time to go to Florida?
I enjoy going to beaches, clear water, just to chill out & do some sunbathing. Any places / beaches u'd like to recommend?

Hurricane season in the United States runs from June 1 to November 30. For the past three years September has not been a good month for Florida because there are always tropical distrubances out there. In 2004, Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne hit Florida in within a two month period. But, I don't know how this September will be. Maybe you can research on weather.com and see the trends of hurricanes in September. If you are going, I recommend going to the west coast of Florida or the Florida Keys. They have beautiful beaches. I would not go to the East Coast. The Altantic Ocean is to choppy, murky, and you have rip currents. I hope this helps!

The Atlantic hurricane season (includes the Gulf of Mexico) is from 1 June - 30 November.
September in Florida is pretty nice - it's not quite as humid and oppressive. Clearwater, Daytona Beach, Miami (South) Beach and Key West are awesome, but usually crowded. If you want something a little less touristy - check out the Gulf coast panhandle beaches - Port St. Joe, Ft. Walton Beach, Pensacola, etc.

We like the gulf side of Fla.anywhere from Sarasota to Ft Meyers for the best beaches. Sept. should been good weather,and the kids are back to school. Fewer people and not as busy.Check the weather from past years.This year so far less storm activity than normal.Look at www.wunderground.com for past weather records.

Texas has never experienced a hurricane before Sept.
Fl. has many times.
