Typcially Jan and Feb are best months to buy a new car. Not sure about the 335i though since it is still in its first year of production. The reason why Jan/Feb are usually the best is because it is right after Christmas and most people will not consider buying cars until they paid off their Christmas shopping. So dealerships are fighting hard for your business. In Jan/Feb of 2008 you are buying the 2008 model year 335i. If there happen to be any 2007 demo models or courtesy cars hanging around, dealership will want to get rid of those quickly, so you may get a really good deal.
Within the months of Jan/Feb ... try to time your purchase closer to end of month ... sales managers are looking to keep their stats up and may give further discounts. I purchased a Mazda5 from an Audi dealership on Dec 31, 2007. It was between Christmas and New Year and many of the sales people were on holidays. I dealt directly with the sales manager and she was very eager to make a deal. I got a 6 month old Mazda5 with less than 10,000 miles for over $7,000 less than the invoice price.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

I'd say right now. I purchased one yesterday.
BMW are about to down tools and switch production to 2008 models. There are not a huge number of changes planned for 2008. Some different rims available, xDrive available on more models, paddle shifter option, but all with a price increase across the board.
Dealerships are more likely to do a deal in the next month or so to clear out the 2007 models in time for the 2008 models that will start arriving in September. Once they get the 2008 models don't expect anything in the way of amazing deals for several months.

As a whole, most BMW's have extremely low ratings on consumer reports, JD Powers and Edmunds with respect to reliability and dependability. Most European cars (I own a 92 Volvo with >200,0000 miles) manufactured in the last 10-12 years now rate as among the lowest in the world-- approximately with the old Yugos of yesteryear! A 10 year old Lexus or Acura has greater reliability than a brand new European car (Volvo, Mercedes, Audi, Range Rover, etc.) according to consumer research over the past 10 years. If you like being on a first name basis with your mechanic, if your mechanic has given your car a name like Sophia or Janet, if the shop has named a door after you, if you like having a mechanic on retainer......... and if you like driving a red 1990 Ford Taurus as a loner while your car is in the shop week after week- by all means by one of the 2 cars you mentioned. Good luck and sorry for being so negative on these cars. If you must buy a car of this type, consider seriously the Lexus, Infiniti or Acura series cars.

I would wait for the 2008. Buy around the end of December for the best price.

end of the month or year so they can get their final numbers in before payday. With a 335 you're kinda screwed since there are waiting lists at most dealerships, so they won't work with you as much on price. My family has the 335 coupe and sedan, amazing cars!
