I believe that at the time you were together, loved and shared was really sincere. You cannot force a person to want to be with you, if they want to break up the relationship. Just move on with your life.
It is very possible that the person is confused, and just wants to make sure that their feelings are true, and they have to prove it to themselves by being separated.
If they do come back to you eventually and you still want the person. I would first talk everything out before I would get back together again, and make sure the person is just not using you. You don't want history repeating itself.

This is how the original saying goes:
If you love something,
Set it free...
If it comes back, it's yours,
If it doesn't, it never was yours....
I do beleive in this. Because if you are having problems, you need to let the other person go and let them decide what they want. You can not do it for them through means, such as manipulation, guilt, etc. If they come back to you then you had their heart to begin with and they just needed time to realize it. Otherwise if they don't, then you never had their genuine unconditional love to begin with. Sad reality that I am living with right now. :) Just my thoughts.............

Yes, I believe in the saying.
You cannot make someone love you or even care about you.
But if the attraction is mutual then you do not have to chase him down. He wants to be with you. If you allow others to be themselves and live their lives, then they feel free to return the Love.

Of course. You cannot own people. They love you and stay with you if they choose to. It is possible to drive people away from you, even if they do love you, by being overly possessive, jealous, suspicious, and controlling. Most people do not enjoy being treated that way.

Yes, because that is the way God designed it....
Be honest, sincere, and trustworthy....then show him you like him, by spending time with him....but don't go for "it"....it's much too early for that.....
He will realize that you are a very nice person, and will want to spend more time with you..........
