Very odd. And Suspicious. Who cares, let him break the record and get it over with. *

Not only did he add 25 pounds of muscle after the age of 35 (which is supposed to be near imposable) but his head got bigger literally. His hat size grew. One thing about getting older is that there is always bone loss. I find it odd that McGwire isn't voted in on speculation and allegations. He hit 49 home-runs his rookie year! While Barry will make the hall of fame, and he has tested positive for steroids twice!

If you can recall, after the 73 all the crap about the roids came out. He was taking the time after that to detox from them and still get his body into some decent shape. That will explain the year off.

Ummm? I wonder how that could have happened. He took so much juice! Not only juice but Human Growth Hormone. His nickname is Agent Balco.

So arrest Norm Cash who won the batting title in 1961 with a .361 avg and never topped .300 in any other season in his career.
Honestly, do real baseball fans give a toss about HR chases and 'roids? The majority took 'roids...who cares? I care about pennant races--that's it. Bonds was a jerk pre-roids anyway.
McGwire vs. Sosa was a hyped-up battle over the long ball. I'd sooner see triples in the gap and the ball in play. HRs are fine but talk about rally killers. Give me a good 4-3 game with loads of base runners and no HRs or a slugfest of one-run HRs.

The 2001 season was when he took the most steriods. He wanted to beat McGuire's record so bad so he spent thousands of dollars for the best steriods.

Of course no one ever bothers looking at playing time, because facts get in the way of a good, ranting hatred.

it's probably a comination of steroids, juiced baseballs, smaller parks , pitchers who can't pitch , modern hightech weight building machines, jelously, players who bet on baseball who haven't been caught , and umpires rigging strike zones !!!

I agree. He's a druggie and I could care less about this record. If I was Henry Aaron, I would be pissed, too. I hope Alex Rodriguez, or someone else, breaks Bonds' record. I hate Barry Bonds.
