80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

I am here to get this right, then I get to go home.

A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.

After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.

Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.

I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.

I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.

If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.

I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.

Love and blessings

Your brother

The meaning of life, the question on every philosphers lips and etched in their minds.

I believe the meaning of life is learning from our past lives. The mistakes,we have made the things we could have done etc.. and healing what you have done to improve all things for today, and tomorrow. To know that a universal entity (God) exists and cherish it's and our existance in the most perplexing Metaphysical manner.Lastly, and to know that there is a grander scale to our existance than that what we Empirically see.

Life doesn't have a 'meaning' is has a nature. Which is the same whether you are a human or bacteria.

Life:
Eats other Life.
Reproduces.
Tries to keep from being eaten.

So. Get a good job, find a good man, have some kids. Love and protect them best you can.

No meaning.

Enjoy life, spread love and positivity, try to eliminate hate and negativity.
Be happy
Try to please yourself and others.

Life is a cruel joke more so because it has no source that can play such a joke. It is short and alot gets wasted on things like the DMV.

Get out there and live or stay in and answer my questions!

For me personally it is twofold: To enjoy the time you have, to reproduce and teach and watch your offspring grow up and enjoy life. As well as dove lop their own personalities while at the same time grow up just like you.

I think you have to find things that you enjoy doing and do them. I think you have to be selfish sometimes. I think if you care for others and help others you get even more out of life.
