This is in response to the answers I have got for my earlier question: Women is it ok to wear low hip sari to office ...?
Most replies suggest that my queston has been misunderstood. I work in an mnc in an Indian city which allows sari as office dress. Iam happily married.
Wearing sari low hip is not uncommon at home, work in Indian society. It is prevelant in all sections both poor and rich and is accepted as decent. Most Indians would agree to that.
My efficiency in work has always been satisfactory and I have let my work do all the talking. Neither am I a woman who wants to flaunt at work place to get noticed. Its just that I feel comfortable and confident about myself the way I wear the sari low. Some times, my midriff does get the stares of men (which women get from some men no matter what we wear) which I mostly ignore but honestly like at times (Iam not hypcritical here like most in Indian society).
Is it ok wearing sari low waist ? Women, especailly Indian, give your views.

HEY IF YOU FEEL COMFY AND GOOD ABOUT IT THEN WEAR IT, YOU ARE DOING IT FOR YOURSELF AND NOBODY ELSE......PLUS AS YOU SAID YOU GOT SOMETHING NICE TO SHOW, THEN IF ITS REALLY NICE THEN FLAUNT IT......THERE ARE TOO MANY UGLY THINGS IN THIS WORLD THAT THE FEW NICE THINGS WE HAVE SHOULD NOT BE COVERED BUT INSTEAD BE FLAUNTED!

As a man, I will look at what is presented, whether it is a business suit, dress, or bikini. But each cause a different mental picture. BUT the woman doesn't really know what I am thinking does she? If you are comfortable with this type of dress and it is socially acceptable where you work and if you are not the only one wearing this, THEN WEAR WHAT YOU WANT!!!

Men will always look and some will stare but your comfortability is more important.

properly it is the third time you have published the precise comparable question, and that i understand because of fact it is the third time i've got spoke back it. It sounds to me such as you have already got your state of ideas on the type you sense approximately this, so why are you soliciting for different individuals's critiques? in case you sense comfortable wearing a sari, and it extremely is not interfering at the same time with your artwork, or your marriage, then what's the subject? would not sound such as you like all of us's suggestion or critiques right here. you have already won a sort of responses to this question (the 1st and 2nd time you published it.) what's it precisely which you're finding for?

I'm not Indian but my instinct says no not to wear this to the office. From what you describe of the attention this attracts it does not sound like some thing to promote professionalism. I would not wear low slung jeans to work if I could wear jeans to work I kind of think that would be an equivilant. My mother always said if it makes a man smile brighter, it is not for wear at work.

the english to indian cultural standard are widely variable
where it is acceptable in modern california to wear whatever one chooses, in say budapest it is not
since im familiar with customs and such, i feel i can say yes if the office work you do doesnt incline you to bend or stoop.
i dont feel its unprofessional at all to wear whats comfortable
you should see what real women get away with everyday here in the states
and since kama sutra and tantra are widely practiced in india, as per new censorship laws i dont see a problem with wearing something you are proud of, and comfortable in

Here in the US it would not be very professional attire for the office but every country is different.

If you are comfortable with wearing it and your co-workers also wear them then I see no problem with it. How does your husband feel about you wearing it to the office?

I don't think so because it's unprofessional looking.

And yes, it's obvious you are still seeking attention and wanting to brag on yourself.

And you contradict yourself...in one sentence you say that your not a woman who wants to gets noticed at work. Then you say that the attention you get...you honestly like.

Yes, you are hypocritical like most in Indian society.

Since your company allow it, your husband have no problem with it, and you are comfortable with it, no big deal, just wear it.
