I'm moving into a studio apartment in about 2 weeks(if everything goes right). This is my first time on my own,and I'll be living by myself. Can anyone give me some first time tips to make moving on my own a success?

Remember to budget. For furniture, try shopping at thrift stores. But careful, if they sense that you are new to buying they may try to take you for a ride.

Good luck

Let everyone know that you are moving and accept all hand me downs. You will need things like dishes that you may have thought of but you will need somethings you didn't think of like a shower curtain or waste basket so if people give housewarming gifts or used stuff take it until you can afford what you like.

Your financial needs are going to skyrocket and what you think you'll need is going to be very different the what you'll actually need. Its so much easier to save money when your living at home. If you screw it up and fall short with paying your rent, you'll screw up your credit and your chances of finding other apartments in the future.

Always make a date pick you up a block or a couple of houses down from where you live. There are some real crazies out there-been there, done that-trust me on this one!
