All vehicles burn some oil.

I'd check the flux valve, or the turbo cabulator!

In seriousness... Blue smoke is oil, black smoke is too much fuel. When a car lets out a puff of smoke on start up, is due to the valve stem seals being bad. When you let a car sit, the oil on the cylinder heads will return to the engine block. If you have bad valve stem seals, a slight bit will drain down the stem so when you start the engine, it gets air/oil/fuel mixture pulled into the cylinder, causing it to burn blue for a second or two. If it smokes continuously, that is due to the rings not sealing against the cylinder walls, so when the crankshaft is splashing the oil up on the cylinder walls for cooling, the rings are suppose to wipe all the oil off, if they are not seated any more, then it will smoke blue all the time, especially when you rev it up. I'd want to know more history on the car. What type of use has it seen? Work, commuter, or pulling heavier than designed loads?

Valve stem seals is correct. While the engine isn't running a bit of oil will leak by the seals, then when you first start it up it burns off the oil. The leaking isn't bad enough to cause smoke after the initial smoke but will get worse. It is an easy and inexpensive fix if the valve guides are not worn/broken.

Normally that is caused by valve stem seals. As it gets worse, it will do the same at red lights as well. Just when give it gas, it will smoke a bit then stop. Valve stem seals are easily replaced on most engines. At least the American made ones.
