fantastic question.....
perhaps I am an elaborate illusion that you are currently experiencing, alternatively the universe may be an elaborate illusion that you are experiencing....i cannot prove to you that i am real nor can prove to me that you are....perhaps i should be asking you the question, prove to me, right now, that you are not just a figment of my imagination....lol....

It's easier to prove that I am just a figment of your imagination. You know that feeling you get when you drink a lot of coffee, or take the first drag from a cigarette, or finish your third beer? That odd sort of buzzing? That's me, man. That's me.

Why should I?
Maybe you are a figment of my imagination.
Here is my poem on reality or imagination or . . . . . . . .
I'm too old in years
to feel so young and innocent
but I do
I've been drunk too many times
to feel so guilty with my pleasure
but I do
I've had too many one night stands
to feel so surprised when I am abandoned
but I do
I've lost too many friends
to feel so lonely and rejected
but I do
I've read too many books
to feel so lost in my fantasies
but I do
I've sang too many songs
to feel so much emotion
but I do
And I am still dreaming
to feel so real
when something happens

This is more easily understandable if one considers the actual scale of the components of an atom. If one takes into account the fact that the neutrons, protons and electrons of an atom actually have huge spaces between them it becomes clear that the atoms that make up seemingly solid objects are made up of 99+ percent empty space.
This alone does not seem too important till you add the idea that the atoms that make up seemingly solid objects are more of a loose conglomeration that share a similar attraction but never really touch each other.
At first glance this does not really seem relevant, but closer analysis reveals that this adds a tremendous amount of empty space to solid objects that are already made up of atoms that are 99 percent space. When so-called solid objects are seen in this light it becomes apparent that they can in no way be the seemingly solid objects they appear to be.
We ourselves are not exceptions to this phenomenon.
These seemingly solid objects are more like ghostly images that we interpret as solid objects based on our perceptual conclusions.
From this we must conclude that Perception is some sort of a trick that helps us to take these ghostly images and turn them into a world we can associate and interact with. This clever device seems to be a creation of our intellect that enables us to interact with each other in what appears to be a three dimensional reality.
I hope that helps to answered your question.
Love and blessings Don

Hey, if I am your imagination...
.....could you whip me up a supermodel girlfriend?
Something in the Rebecca Romijn line.....
No really, If I am your imagination, you are a sad, sick, twisted little man, and you have my pity. Err... I mean your self pity.

If you want to live in a Dream-go back to sleep! You need to purify your mind, stop ingesting intoxicants, and red meat. That's only a beginning---------
