Babies, when breastfed eat their fill. They eat just enough to be satisfied. Ilet my baby nurse and take his time. He can sometimes go for 45 minutes or just 20. Most of the time he will fall asleep when he is done. I let him come off when he is ready. At times, during growth spurts he seems to be always attached.
No 4 oz is ok when you pump. But don't make him finish if he doesn't want to.
My baby is just a few days older and he eats, during the day...from every hour to every three. At night he wakes maybe once or twice, so every three to a span of six hours.

If your baby is content after eating 4oz every 3 hours well then all is well....
I breastfed all of mine and at 6 weeks they were about every 3 hours for 10 mins on each side.

Doctors say you should feed every 2 hours for 10 to 15 minutes if breastfeeding and every 4 hours if formula fed.

My son often fed for up to an hour and a half at that age. From memory it wasn't til he was around 3.5 months that he changed to 40min feeds. If your son is hungry, then feed him. He'll tell you when he's not hungry anymore.

If he latches on well when feeding, 10-15 minutes each side, you should feel the milk "fall" or "release", start the 10-15 time at that point. 4 oz of pumped milk is plenty for now.
