I am on a 2 year plan with verizon. Its a fmaily share plan with 700 minutes. I got my phone last summer with the plan. So its almost one year now and i was wondering if i can upgrade after one year? And i mean having the option to get a phone cheap, as though i was beginning a new plan.

Once you have had the service for one year, your primary line is eligible for an early upgrade. The early upgrade will require you to sign a new 2 yr contract on that line, pay a 20.00 early upgrade fee, and then you can get a new phone at a discounted rate. You will then get the phone at the 2 yr discounted rate. You will though, lose your New Every Two discount on your line. The New Every Two is the 50.00 they will give to your primary line to get a new phone after 22 months. For example... Your new phone will be 99.99 with a 2 yr contract. After 1 yr, you will pay 99.99 + 20.00 fee to get the phone early = 119.99. If you waited until 22 months, you would pay 99.99 - 50.00 = 49.99. That is the only difference. Do remember though, this will only work on the primary line. If you are wanting this for one of the secondary lines, you will have to wait the full 22 months per VZW policy.

I believe you can after one year, but the discounts you could get are not as good as if you wait for your 20 month mark.. Unless there is something wrong with your phones, just wait things out.. In another 8 to 10 months there will be way better phones specially since there are more and more CDMA based phones super coold ones too, coming to Verizon.. and by then Verizon more likely will be No. 1 wireless company in the nation meaning they will have the higher priority for what types of handsets come to the states...

They will cut you a little slack, don't go to the store though, you get a little more leniancy if you go through the *611 avenue. Not sure about a year early, but if not, give it a few more months, and you shoudl be able to get it done without a problem
