Well, my mom and i was going to go shopping 2 buy bras and im just wondering. cuz im 9 years old thats going to 4th grade. oh, i wonder which type should i get, Sport Bra or Cup bra?

Some 9 year olds do need to wear bras. The question is, are you starting to grow breasts yet, or do you just want to wear a bra because that's what older girls do? If your breasts are growing, you may need to point this out to your mom. She sees you every day and might not have noticed. If they aren't, just wait. Your time will probably come soon.

Sport bra. They are way more comfortable. I am going into 6th grade, and I am a year younger than all the other girls,so I don't "have anything" yet, I just can't get away without one. Cups are too big, and they are uncomfortable, so just wear sport bras they rock!

Whenever you get boobs, get a bra.
The only time you should really get one even if you are slightly flat chested is if you are in middle school and have to change in the lockerrooms. If that's the case, then just use a sports bra. It looks very strange when a person with a flat chest wears a cup bra.

The appropriate age is whatever age you start to grow breasts- be that nine or nineteen. I don't think you need a sports bra. Unless you have a significant growth, you could get away with a training bra. You should measure your chest to see what's the best size and try on many to find the most comfortable fit.

there is no set age for getting a bra. if you have a chest that is large enough, you should wear one. i.e. if you are feeling uncomfortable now at age 9 then you should get one. I got my first one in sixth grade and was a 36B. since I was a little bit on the big side compared to my friends, I had a very simple cotton one with underwire.
you should wear whatever type that you feel most comfortable in.

well just to add on to some of the other answers u dont need big boobs for a bra some people (such as me) nipples show right through their shirt if they dont wear one anyways try on the sports bra on first if u can see ur nipples through it then u need cup bras
anyways if your only 9 arent u a little young for y! answers?

well you start wearing a bra once you start to start getting something, if you only have somehting very little do just a sports bra or trainig bra .. you wont need a cup til you get bigger.. i didnt start wearing a bra til 5thgrade i had a sports bra to start i was in an A cup but 6th grade

Be guided by the size of your bust...if there aint anything there dont bother!! However..if at 9 you are beginning to develop, go for the sports bra to begin with. Rest assured tho, you will get to the stage where you wish you didnt have to wear the rotten things!!!

hun, there's no "appropriate age." it's just when you start to develop. if you haven't started yet, don't get one. after all, you're only 9. but i'd say that you need one by when you're 11 because then you have to change in the locker room and stuff. and no cup bras till later

If your mom says it's time, it's time. Girls in my family have worn one since it starts to be "something" there.Specially since we used uniforms for school and blouses don't hide anything. At you age I am sure you wouldnt be comfortable with anybody noticing you there, so I started to wear it comfortably at your age. It was a training bra 32AA.
