Yes I do. I had that space re-enforced when the house was built 29 yrs ago and I've maintained the structural integrity ever since.

Well, my one dog runs into our bathroom....the only inner room on a lower level without windows....me personally LEAVES my house and runs across the street to my neighbors that actually HAVE a basement. And I usually stay close to the main support beams down there. Although there was one night when it was late....so myself, 3 dogs (1 huge one, 2 smaller ones) and 5 cats all piled into the bathroom for 2 hours until the warning was over. I'm originally from a hurricane area.....I can drive through a hurricane but tornadoes scare the hell out of me.

Sure... I live on the Gulf Coast. When the hurricanes blow, there are often several tornadoes to follow. If it's too late or too flooded to evacuate, then it's time to make like a mole and hunker down.
During Hurricane Rita last year, we were all wondering if the house would hold.

Basement, cellar, anything like that. If you don't have that, you can use a bathtub with a blanket or something to cover you in the event you have broken glass. If you don't have a bathtub, go to an interior closet with no windows, preferably near a support beam.

Sure I do... and I have the plan posted at both exits (common area) that detail the shelter/evacuation procedures in my home in the event of an emergency. I also have an emergency kit in my home and a smaller more compact version in my van.

No, there has only been one Tornado ever here where I live. The only time we ever had one, they told us to go to a room with no windows.

The room with the fridge of course. That's where the ice cream is.
That's my plan and I'm sticking to it.
