I would love to invent a swimming pool system that uses charcoal. Charcoal is so inexpensive and if you look at fish tanks they are crystal clear. As to why I have not done it is simple, you need a financial backer that believes in what you want to do.

Bigger brains than mine are working on some forms of it. Nobody has figured out how to make a superconductor work well enough under normal temperatures yet.

I would invent digital paper. You could hold it just like paper, but it can be erased and reused. It would save on resources while having the tangible qualities of paper.
I don't know how it would be done.
