I would us a condom for the first month or two. It takes a while to build up the hormones in yours system.
This will also get you use to taking the pills daily, in case you might happen to skip some.
You can always call up your doc. & talk to advice nurse depending what kind of BC pills you're taking.

you need to be on birth control for a whole month before they become fully effective.
that means going through the 3 weeks of hormones and 1 week of sugar pills before having sex without a condom.
why didn't your healthcare provider tell you this when they gave you the pills????

Use condoms for the first 7 days after starting on the pills.
After that, you should be good to go, that is, if the pills are taken correctly.

When I got put on the pill they recommended to wait a month. So, if it were me i'd wait at least another three weeks until I got my "period". Then after you start taking them again you should be fine.

Never!!!!!! Let me tell you honestly.. NEVER!!!!! THE PILL WILL NOT PROTECT YOU against STD's or HIV, and if you choose to have unprotected sex even while on the pill let me remind you of one thing.... you are having sex with everyone you partner has had sex with and everyone they have had sex with and so on and so on... is it really worth your health to have sex without a condom?????????? So again.. .the answer to your question is NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Usually, you should wait until you get your period. However, a quick check with a medical advice would not hurt.
