he is very spoiled, and when I turned 16 I got a job, when my sister turned 15 she got a job, and now my bro is 16 and my mother tells me that he is not ready yep, however he wants a job! Why would someone say this???????

I'm the oldest and I think I've got it ...lol
Its one of two things.
1.thy are so happy that's the last one....lol
2.Or thy think if thy spoil the baby he'll be the one to take care of her when she gets old....
My little brother has got my mom so fooled that its not funny.

Parents never intend to favor any of her children over the others but it does happen alot. I have 5 children.Without meaning to I developed an extra closeness toward my oldest AND my youngest.. I always ALWAYS hide that fact from the kids because I dont want any of them to think they hold a lesser portion of my heart. I think the reason we bond with the oldest is because theyre our firstborn.. all of our first parenting experiences took place with the first child. and the reason we bond with the youngest is like most of these other answers stated... it's because they represent the finale of our child bearing..theyre the baby we dont want to let go of because we know there won't come another one.So we cherish every second in a way unlike we cherished with the children before...and in doing so we end up cherishing that child unlike any of the ones before.... because they are the last chance on doing things right. improve on all the mistakes they did with the first. enjoy the moments they maybe took for granted with the older children.i am the baby in my family and i love it.
