He could be impeached as Vice President. Impeachment is for all elected officials. It is the first step in removing them from office against their will. Impeachment is pretty much the same as an indictment however. Their still needs to be a trial to see if they will be removed from office. This is why while Clinton and Andrew Johnson were both impeached but neither removed from office. To date there have been impeachments against two presidents, once cabinet officer, one senator, one associate justice, and twelve federal judges.
So yes, he could be impeached at that time, or any other for that matter.
