I don't know, that question is really hard to answer.
Yes, we have, and still do, work hard for what we have, and survived many hard times. Many good people have lost their lives defending this country. All of that is a given, but to say we are superior to other countries is going a bit far.
To say we are "superior" is like saying "We are better than you". I don't know about you, but if someone comes up to me and says that they are better than I am, I tend not to like that person, and I think the same would hold true for countries as well.

Other countries have worked really hard and lost a lot of men and women and went through hard times together.
No one country is superior to others because they are all SO unique.
America is a great place to live most of the time though and we definitly do have things that some other countries don't.

What's the fuss about which country is more superior? What matters more is if a country has better citizens or not and what countries ranks among the lower end of crime rates in the world.

Americans think they are superior to every other creature on this planet...that doesn't mean that we are. In fact that aspect of Americans (their ego centered lives and need to feel above all others) is the very reason I am at times ashamed to be American. And the reason I am vegan...we are no better than any other creature or country.
Nobody gets it...why are we fighting in the first place...? Do you think it's so "superior" that one of the first buildings that we bombed in Iraq was a womens hospital where babies were being born? Yes 9/11 was horrible...and shouldn't have happened...I guess if we were more "superior" it wouldn't have happened...but why do people keep saying out military is over fighting for that? OSAMA was the master mind behind the bombings NOT BIN LADEN!!!! And why...why...why...must we fight. War is not superior...a country who is not involved in war and works towards world peace...that's a superior country.

Superior ? yes but not in an egotistical way , as has been stated we have bailed out many other countries with little or no thanks, just with a hand out demanding (not begging ) for more "aid" . And for anyone who thinks differently well KAMA, this country beats the hell out of most any other country you can name hands down .And way ahead of what ever one is second .

No. Do I believe Americans believe they are superior? Yes. Don't get me wrong, America has done a great many good things for the world, but America also tries to run the world and it is backfiring on you.
What makes you think that Americans put more effort into living than other countries? How many other countries have lost men and women and children due to wars started by America? No one is superior over anyone. What happened to all people being created equal?

going by the things you listed, ie lives lost, hard times, we are beginners. with discussions i have had with people from other countries, one of the most reiterated questions was "are you living in a third world country?" if you mean to ask if we are superior in terms of spending large amounts to offend others, we are #2. when it comes to treatment of our citizens, we are average or a little below. your question is too vague to give a yes or no answer.

You don't see Americans flooding across the border into Mexico or Canada do you? Or flying en masse to France or Germany or those other "enlightened" European countries? Or moving to China or India for better opportunities?
Nope - Americans know a good deal when they see it, and although they may *****, moan, and groan about this, that, or the other thing, they'd never leave.
Why is that?
Simply put, we are the best country in the world and way superior to anything else this globe has ever produced.

No but you obviously do how can a country that entered two world long after they started ever imagine they are superior to all the other countries that had been fighting for years.
We have something over in Australia its called the tall poppy syndrome because if you get to big for your boots we cut you back down to size you should try it sometime.

In some ways yes and in others no. We certainly put ourselves in the position that would make us assume we are superior, no doubt about that, but it is not always the case.
