Write out a budget.

Write down your total house hold payments that you have to pay.

Rent/house payment - (amount)
Electric - (amount)
Gas - (amount)
Water - (amount)
Cable- (amount)
Waste/trash pick up - (amount)
Car payment - (amount)
Insurance -(amount)
Food - (amount)
Anything else I may have not mentioned that you have to pay, some of the above you may not have to pay, but you get the idea.
total your bills for the month.
take your monthly bring home amount of Money and subtract your total bills.
What ever you have left over is the money you have to live on for the rest of the month.
Try to take some of it and put it in a savings account.
