mostly yes, it is commonly used tool by right wing fundamentalists and fascists to marginalise minorities - just another weapon their armories - (its for people who think they are the only ones that know what is right - mostly the under achievers) we should pity them!!

You are on the wrong track when it comes to family values. They consist of respect for the elders in the family as well as siblings. It stands for loving a family member unconditionally , whether they are straight or gay. I don't know what you mean by lets pick on gay people. If two men/women love each other, the so be it, we as humans are all entitled. Same sex relationships has nothing to do with family values in my book. If a gay couple adopt a child, love it , nurture it and teach it right from wrong, then there is a strong sense of family values.

Ah, tabloid tv news.
Watch CLTV its better.
As for your question..nope its not code for anything more than the basic element, man woman child, called the family unit in its basis form.
If your looking for code, these are a few, for the politically correct... diversity, domestic partner, same sex partner.
These are colorized versions of being homosexual.
Ironically, you turned the tables around again, making it look like its picking on gay people.
Like the saying goes, by any other color, a rose is still a rose.

The family is the basic unit, and foundation that strengthens any society; family values refers to;
Marriage between one man and one woman, who hold dear to the traditional roles in their marriage, and their children.
These values are often based on family traditions, cultural back ground, and their faith.
Family values are often cited as the reason; and rightly so; to criticize "cultural values" that undermine, or lead to the break down of the traditional family.

yes. it was coined during sermons by the religious right, most notably jerry falwell, during his campaign to make everyone aware how ugly, evil, sinful, corrupt, malcontent and disgusting gays were/are/will be. jerry thinks families are composed of a white male and white female married in america (the america run by a republican btw), raising 2.5 white children, buying an american made car, living in the suburbs, paying 10% of their income to his church. anyone not fitting this nuclear model was, well, going to hell. but further, they were, by their very existence, corrupting the good families. therefore Her Jerry agreed with Her Hitler that they all should be rounded up and exterminated so they stop polluting the air that the normal white folk breathed. hope this helps enligthen....

Gays aren't and can never be families, thus the phrase "family values" has nothing to do with gays...Furthermore, how can you be a ****** and have values?
