Yes I do.My dogs and cats give me unconditional love. They don't care if I'm rich or poor, what I look like, how "cool" I am,or if I'm fat, skinny, short ,tall, black, white, yellow or blue! They are always there when I need a hug,and I can talk to them ,and they seem to listen,They know when I am upset, and my German shepherd,Lulu and my calico cat,Chloe will come straight to me and try to comfort me.They are endlessly entertaining, loyal and forgiving.I love them just like I love my human family.Maybe I'm crazy, but they don't care about that, either!

Very much so. My wife and I tend to refer to them as we would children when we talk about them. Same kinda thing with my parents dogs; I refer to them as my brother and sister. Pets can be just as irreplaceable as family, some even more so depending on what kinda family we are talking about. I think it depends on how you feel about the hierarchy of souls as to where the line is drawn about which animals matter more. Some people don't think fish are worth love, but I can tell you I've had Koi with more personality than some would care to think about.
To differentiate to my friends, my dogs and cats are my fur children, my dragon is my scale child, my bird was my air child, my fish are aqua children... I think that covers it. My ferrets were fur child when they were here. I think the only difference with pets vs. human children is that you know to expect to outlive them, whereas many humans hope to never bury their children.

Depends somewhat on the pet. A fish? No...
But I consider my parrot family. Granted, the farker will probably outlive me and bites me on occasion, but I consider him family and I love him nonetheless. I talk to him and to me he'll always be "the bad son".

Yes I do consider my pets as my family... I also refer my dog and cat as my sons... because it is a relationship that you built with your pets... and the animal treat you as a family since they have been separated from their family...

I have a pet-Persian cat, whom I've had for 15years,and have spent much time with him, loving and caring for him,as if he were my own child... yes, heis a family memeber, i wouldnt have it any other way. by spending as much time with him, i find he is most like a family memeber in character, he has his character traits as we all do,and tends to adapt to ours as individuals...for an example; I am peaceful, gentle, caring and he is too. he is very tentative, and seems to knowwhen something withme is of ill,and lays by my side when Im ill,and most always..theres so much i could say about him, but i guess the word is "dedication", im dedicated to him,as he is of me.

Yelp I do, without them my family would be incomplete.
couch would be empty
no hellos at the door (after long day out)
no balls brought to me just as I'm settling in for the night
well hubby would be there but........!

Yes, I consider them family. We have had them since they were babies they protect us if we need it they comfort us when we are sad and they loves us and we love them. I guess that is why.
