There was a long period of couch surfing in '95. I didn't become officially homeless until October 1996. It lasted 6 hellish months. Now I own 50 acres between two states, and am starting a new business.

Between 1994-1999, then 2001-2003, and 2005 to now I've been homeless. Nothing to it. I lived in a car for the years before '05 and then a friend loaned me his place to hang out in until I get work and on my own again. I've done the soup kitchen, free clothing, charity hand-outs and homeless shelter. Slept in cardboard boxes, rest areas, a car in a grocery parking lot, and under some pine trees...
I should write a book. Anyway, there's the answer to your question. Hope you don't ever have those worries.

Does staying with my parents for two months between jobs count? Probably not. I'm lucky I always have them to turn to.

No, but I always think how close I am to it.
It really can happen so fast and to anyone.
Home is where your heart is supposed to be, but it's so much more than that; it's where you seek refuge and feel safe.
