Yes...everybody so far is correct....the orifice size is different so make sure you purchase a propane water heater. Tankless are more expensive and I'm assumming you will be using this house as a get away home so it would not be feasible to spend the extra money. There are a lot of water heater brands out there and some are better than others. I will suggest that you NOT get a Whirlpool heater! These heaters are the worst on the market and always have problems. Out of all the water heater's I've repaired I would say that Whirlpool is about 60 percent of them. The best on the market is Bradford White but I say again, DO NOT get a Whirlpool....good luck

Well some are part right. The orifice and the pressure is different between natural and propane. Usually water heaters come with both orifices and the gas valve part which changes the pressure. The propane company can help you out. Call them.

Go to Home Depot and they'll not only sell you the heater but, have the right orifice on hand to change to propane. No problem

Yeah, there is a difference between the two, the orifices in the gas valve are different. You should look into a tankless waterheater.

Well.........if you ask me, I like the tankless answer....uses electric power and will not use ANY power until you want it. This allows you to walk out the door and not worry about pilots, turning it on and off, pressure build-up, ETC..But DO NOT get a whirlpool!!! I agree with the guy upstairs, bad choice.
