You could give it a try. Depending on your talent and the size of the team will determine whether you would (1) make the team and (2) see any playing time. Most likely, unless you are at a huge school that is very serious about football (like in Texas or Florida), then you could probably make the team and at least play on special teams this year. If you have some skills and most importantly, show an excellent WORK ETHIC, you might have a chance to gain a starting spot next year at least as a senior.

honestly, what i would do is that i would take the time to learn the game on the junior varsity level so that way, when your senior year comes, you'll be ready to play at the full level of play that the varsity level asks for

Depends on the position. That person probably will not start at any skill positions on either side of the ball. Maybe as an OL or DL if he has exceptional physical tools.

i dunno. i guess u got nautral talent, kid, cuz imma be a junior amnd play on a varisty team as tight end, but im only 5'11" and 180 pounds but i got some speed and good nads and can play O line/ D line
