I have some kind of issue here. I have a 5 year old computer, to be exact a Dell Dimension 2400. I never upgraded the computer other then giving it more memory. The graphics cared pretty much sucks but I run the video settings on GW: NF low and I seem to manage. Recently I did a mission and completed it with flying colors. The game went off into a cut-scene and did it’s thing, this cut-scene seemed to take longer then all the others ones so I decided to skip it. It took me to a loading screen as I entered a new area called Wehahan Terraces. The loading screen reached 100% and then nothing happened. I figured it would take a little while because it was a new area and it was loading up all the NPCs and players. After about 5 minutes, I ALT CTRL DELETED out of the game and there was an error sitting there. The error said “Guild Wars has detected an unrecoverable graphics driver error and will no terminate” At first I thought I fried my graphics card because it was real old and sucked for

top games. So I decided to do a test, I created another character, low and behold it allowed me to play the game without any problems. So I logged out of that created character and attempted to try a already created character. Again, I allowed me to play that character with no errors. I then tried the character that I had the error, again it gave me the error again. You all still here? Good! I contacted GW support and they said it was my graphics card and the area my character is currently in my card can’t handle it. But then someone I knew said it could be that my character had a corrupted file. Here is the question, could it be my graphics card or could it be that my character has a corrupted file? If it is my graphics card, I’ll have to get a new one, and in fact I have one on the way. But what if that does not work and my character is indeed corrupted, how do I make him un corrupted?

It's definately your graphics card. Had the same problem myself when I started GW, upgraded my card and now have no problem. Also once the card is upgraded, you'll have the new area. The error message told you what the problem was - a graphics driver error.

You need a new graphics card. I also have an older Dell 2400. I bought GW and played ok with it for a while, but the lag was horrible and some areas I just could not manage at all.

The bad thing is that the Dell 2400 does not have a video card slot and many many people told me that I could not upgrade because of that and my only choice was to buy a new computer. So, for a long time I lived with the lag.

Later I found out that wasn't true. I bought a PCI video card and installed it in one of the PCI slots. I couldn't believe the difference in the game. You don't have to spend a lot of money. I bought a card for $80. It wasn't top of the line, but it's good enough for GW.

the acceptable component to do is test, and artwork out what's perfect for you, failing that, ask a prolonged family contributors whore, and that they are going to compliment a definite build till you desire you by no ability talked to them. in my opinion, i take advantage of an E/Mo.
