Boston-area fans are usually some of the most annoying in sports. When their team’s on top, they are pretty obnoxious. When they’re not on top, they’re convinced there’s a conspiracy somewhere.
They probably figure the Pats are the favorite right now — anyone should, with the additions they made in the offseason, combined with defections their main rivals made (like the Colts’ offense and the Ravens’ defense ... and there's going to be a learning process with your Chargers adjusting to a new coach and staff).
But the Super Bowl isn’t won with high-profile spring and summer signings. Ask any Redskins fan over the past five or six years!
On-field football isn't as easy as picking a fantasy team and adding up totals. Chemistry means a lot, and you don't know if you have the right chemistry until you get those high-ego personalities in the same lockerroom over six or seven months.

Cause the Pats are big headed. They think that all Brady needed were some recievers, they don't understand that big offseason moves doesn't translate into playoff wins. With Samuel out, the secondary isn't that good. Their linebackers are so old (53 years of experience) that I doubt they are as fast as most teams. They have a great d-line that stops the run well, but that won't win them the super bowl...The offense is good, but overrated. People think that Brady is all that, but he's not. He tries to do too much (Farve like) and the media and the Pats fans think he's better than he really is. Look at his stats, they aren't that good. He'll have a couple good games against bad teams, and sub-par games against good opponents. Brady is only good when all you need is to get in field goal range against a prevent defense, nothing more. I haven't like Brady since he fumbled back in the '02 playoff game against the Raiders (not a Raider fan either...just think that the right call needs to be made in the playoffs). The defense has carried them in all their super bowl runs and I don't think the defense is strong enough to do it this year.
The Chargers, Colts, Ravens, Bengals and even the Broncos (4-1 against the Pats and 1-0 in the playoffs) all have a good shot at beating them in the playoffs and yet the big headed Pats think Randy Moss is a team player (new flash Pats fans...). They will make the playoffs in the weakest division in the AFC, but they are definately not super bowl bound in '07.

Because they made big additions and it looks good on paper, but paper isn't everything. You need chemistry, and plus, if Brady gets injured, they shut their mouths and let the Chargers win it all ( I'm actually a Bears fan, but I'd rather see L.T. with a ring and trophy then the Patriots who danced on your field). And I agree with the person who said that Brady is overrated. C'mon, against the Bears, he threw 2 picks to the same DB, and last time I checked it was Asante Samuel making the game winning play. Plus a lot of people say Brady didn't have quality receivers but why would he need them if he's such a "great" ( actually overrated) QB? I agree 100%.
Good luck in week 1 and on your quest to SB XLII because I'd rather see Ladainian Tomlinson with a ring rather than Randy Moss and Brady with his fourth

Yes my Washington Redskins won it in 1982 against the Dolphins, in 1987 against the Broncos and in 1991 against the Bills. Although not a Giants or Packers fan, I went to the same junior hs (grade 6-8) as Amani Toomer and high school (grade 9-12) as Mike Holmgren

lets see ...the pats added moss and stallworth for brady to throw too.who does philips have besides gates?
im a big dallas fine and i like turner but he is just a great offensive coordinator.look what he did in washington and oakland.when he went back to being just a coordinator he made sf a potent offenseagain.the chargers lost their head coach and both coordinators this past offseason that will keep them out of the superbowl.they will make the playoff because they play in the same division as the raiders and chiefs and shoud win that division in a close race with the broncos but they wont get past the 2nd round in the playoffs.colts and pats in chamionship game.

to me, it looks like it will be a lot harder to beat the patriots. i am a giants fan and i groaned when i saw the pats on our schedule cuz i know our chances of winning are slim.
i guess the reason why people like to predict results of sports teams is because its exciting. there is a level of pride going in the nfl season and getting your pre-season predictions right is a lot of fun.
i would love nothing more than to see the pats crumble and tom brady get a mental breakdown due to randy moss. but they just did so well in the offseason that from here it looks like they might dominate. but lets just wait and see, can't wait for the new season to start.

I live in NE, but I am a Bengals fan. These idiot "fans" are the biggest bandwagoners in the NFL. Most of them could not name one player besides Steve Grogan prior to Bill Parcells. Yes they are a good team, but also one of the luckiest I have ever seen.

I hear you. They bring a bucket full of has-beens and they're think they have it won already. The Pat fans are setting themselves up for some vast disappointment.

Because they should have been there last year, and would have been if the refs didn't rig the AFC Championship for Peyton Manning...Now the Patriots are loaded so that what happenned last year won't ever happen again...

The cold weather makes them delusional.
I think they're putting too much stock in the addition of Randy Moss and Donte Stallworth in the passing game.
