I did that for 20 years, being his best friend, hoping we would get back together. Keep yourself busy, go out with friends, date, change your number. Time does heal a broken heart. the busier you are, the less time you have to think about him. Its been 6 mos for me, and until I read this question, I haven't thought about him for at least 2 months. So, girl, get out there and have some fun!

You are doing the right thing by staying away from him. Time is your best ally on this one and make sure you stick to your guns - no matter what his messages are, no matter how much you want to call him, you must not call him.

Hang in there - time will make things better - I promise.

(ps: take up a new sport, activity, volunteer, go out with your friends)

I would say keep doing what you're doing and ignore his calls. The best thing to do is to detach yourself from him and the situation because if you stay in constant contact with him those feelings will never have a chance to go away. Go out, hang with the girls, and hit the dating scene to distract yourself!

Hope this helps : )

the old sayin time heals all doesn't always work. if u really want to get over him, start planning more stuff with your friends, enjoy life, and relax. If your not ready to start dating again, so be it, but don't kid urself and start dating again just cuz u need tht to move on, it will waste time of someone who really does want something serious.
good luck
:-)

BTW---i would call ur ex and explain u don't want him calling cuz u need to get over him. Say ur finial goodbyes and cut of those taddered ends to the rope. If he continues callin change ur #, just be sure tht hes aware he shouldn't call u

Try not to think about the memories, if you do, think about the negative things about him. I would be pissed if he's with someone else and still calling. There are lots of guys out there and you deserve better. Love yourself and love your freedom and independence as well.

your taking the right approach in getting over this man. Continue not answering his calls and ignoring the I love you still crap that he's throwing out. If he loved you that much, he would've done what was right in keeping you.

Why have you not changed your phone number and had it unlisted? Things must not be working out with the new girl, so now he wants to get you back until he meets someone else. Be sure and get rid of him for good.

Seven year courtship!! You could not mean very much to him. Oh well " Why buy the cow when you can get the milk free"

If you are serious about moving on.........change your phone number. Sounds like he has not moved on completely, so you must force him to do so.
