perhaps argentina underestimated brazil. and perhaps it is the game plan of brazil -- lull the opponents and hit them when they least expected it.

You've got to remember, Brazil and Argentina play each other all the time and both know each other's playing style. This is another sad case of this, no matter how good you are, you always have to play your game. It happened the same with Mexico vs. US for the Gold Cup. In these games all what matters is how concentrated you are. These games carry a lot of weight. Which means it can be very demoralizing being scored against, but you need to know how to play against it. Sadly, Argentina, the better team throughout the tournament was not able to capitalize against the wonderful Brazilian defense, thanks to the great coaching in Dunga's part.

i give you some points:
1. Dunga is a defensive coach, most know defense wins championships and offense sells tickets. Did you see the job juan, alex, and the other defensive brazilians did against messi tevez, WOW.
2. Riquelme, this guy never shows up for the big games, yes i know people say he had a bad game, do you remember last year against germany yeah bad game, last year in champions league yeah bad game, and other games versus barcelona, real madrid, yeah bad game, so no riquelme never comes up big oh yeah by the way how many big teams has he played for, omg atl.madrid are a european powerhouse along with villeareal. Barca didn't even want him.
3. Brazil was the underdog, meanwhile argentina were too confident and did not respect brazil.

Argentina are so full of themselves & they thought they could step out on the pitch & win automatically! what has happened in the last 2 Copa America final? they have lost twice & to Brasil.
this win was sweet BUT the one from Peru 3 years ago was even sweetier.
Argentina are like England, they'll win when they host a major Championship 1978 & 1966.
BRASIL (1978) are the first & only team to go UNDEFEATED in the World Cup and not be crowned Champions...
1st round matches...
Brasil 1 x Sweden 1
Brasil 0 x Spain 0
Brasil 1 x Austra 0
2nd round matches...
Brasil 3 x Peru 0
Brasil 0 x Argentina 0
Brasil 3 x Poland 1
3rd place match...
Brasil 2 x Italy 1
7 matches 4 wins, 3 ties, 0 losses
it took an Argentian born goal keeper playing for Peru to allow 6 goals against his team.

Why did Argentina beat Brazil 3-0 back when Brazil had Pele, Garincha, etc.?
ac milan: Riquelme didn't have a bad game against Germany, he played brilliantly and set up the goal, but a few minutes after the idiot Peckerman sat him down, Germany equalised and Argentina couldn't score again. He didn't do so well against Brazil because they fouled him every time he had the ball.

Because Brazil played a rough game. It is sad that everytime Riquelme or Messi or Tevez (or any Argentine for that matter) got the ball, Brazil fouled them. FIFA needs to come up with something to stop this crap because it is annoying.
Secondly Brazil scored on counter attacks and Argentine defense as I have previously suspected and wrote somewhere else on answers.com, has been surprised a lot in recent years by quick counter attacks.. especially in big games.... Argentina clearly need to come up with some strategy to not allow quick counter attacks to turn to goals...

lol whats this garbage about brazil winning without stars? WHO do you think the heroic ROBINHO is?! some bum?? while argentina had more star power, their attack was stifled by physical defense while their own defense was very shaky against a great brazilian counter. much of the credit goes to dunga and robinho. also argentina's fortune mainly rests on the creativity of leo messi and juan roman riquelme, both of whom had subpar games.

If you watched the game you will notice that Brazil was very focused.
Dunga had a great plan and his soldiers helped him accomplish it.
The Brazilians closely marked the Argies and they didn't let them get a breathing space.
I'm neither Brazilian or Argentinian but I was supporting Brazil because they went into the game as the "under dogs".
I always go for the "under dogs" -- it makes victory sweeter.
Anyway, Brazil proved that you don't need "stars" to win a tournament. All you need is a focused group of men who really really don't want to loose.
Great game it was.

properly, Brazil and Argentina are incredible communities. i think of Mexico could annex via u . s . and Cuba could bomb on through terrorist that lives thier for an occasion: Bin Landin and invoice Clinton. Oh, i'm no longer completed. I additionally think of the midsection states of the US could be sunk into the sea via dropping atoms bombs and likely, you heard suited. i like montana and base on that, it would be a rustic. manhattan could be call New artwork somewhat because of the fact there no artwork thier and florida could be rename to yahoo. San Francisco could strengthen into small u . s . as quickly because it have been separated from the mainland. additionally, all those white persons could be rename to **** whitecans because of the fact finally the Mexicans might take over. properly, i think of you purchased my factor.
