Doing anything well is hard, and almost always takes extensive effort. Please be sure you are not confusing "big" with "celebrity", as they are often not the same thing. Was Dr. Jonas Salk "big"? I think anyone who realizes he developed the main prevention of polio would tell you yes, but most people have no idea who he is - he has no "celebrity". Most successful actors make more money than Dr. Salk ever did, but who has had the most profound effect on the most people?

You want to be someone big? Start eating. That's the only way most people ever become "big" in any way shape or form. Being a famous anything is not going to happen. Most people who try fail. Those who do succeed usually find out that it didn't fill the void in their lives they thought it would and they are still unhappy. Either way it's a waste of time. The people who succeed as actors succeed because they have an all consuming passion for the craft. Not the money. You don't have that. You just want to be a big shot. I say you should examine the reasons you want to be something "big."
Realize that most people with lofty ambitions at anything usually fail. Align your expectations with reality. First reality check. You don't have any idea if you will be good enough.
You've never taken any pro level classes. Most people can't do it well enough to compete with the best in the world. What makes you think you will? Second, I can almost guarantee you, you will NOT just come to Ca. and just start working. Especially since you have no experience or training. Do you think any agent will sign you when they have their pick of seasoned actors? Third, you're already talking about quitting and going back to college. Being an actor is a lifetime commitment. Bottom line, just forget it. This isn't for you.

Hi,
If you do a search here on answers you will see other answers to this question, as it comes up usually a couple of times each day. I answer this question a lot and so instead of writing the same or similar answers over and over again, I have created a 28-page ebooklet that answers pretty thoroughly your question. Just go to http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/acs-blog.html , sign in on the right side of the page and you can download it for free. It's called: What It Takes To Become An Actor.
Hope this helps!

You want to be the first in your family to become someone really big--that's hard--it takes hard work to be really big at anything. And acting is really really hard to make a living at. So if you have any adversion to working really really hard, you will not become and actor and you will not become someone really big any anything.

No
be lucky OR be a good actor
OR both
never think of something as "hard" before trying, it might actually be the easiest **** around, but you wont know unless you try
